1984 Pininfarina Azzurra, drop dead gorgeous
with 35,975 original miles!
Priced right at $13,995
Very clean and original, Vin: ZFRAS00B2E5504354 is in exception
condition. It has a smooth five speed manual transmission and
is bathed in beautiful Rosso paint with Beige leather interior,
and a brand new EZ-ON vinyl top. This wonderful Italian sports
car has is all: The best color combination, cold air conditioning,
wonderful paint, clean-original interior and recently completed
maintenance and services on a low - 36,000 mile car. The only
thing left for you to do is to collect your favorite companion
and hit the open road!
Recently completed repairs and maintenance include:
New hoses and belts - including the important engine cam belt
- new valve cover gasket, air conditioning service, new Bridgestone
Potenza Pole Position tires, new rear brake pads and steering
bushings. The hazard switch was repaired, a fresh lube, oil
and filter change was performed, and a new Anza twin sport
exhaust and new Buckskin colored vinyl top have both been installed.
Be sure the Fiat / Pininfarina Spider you purchase has a new
timing belt / cam belt installed. These belts should be replaced
every 30,000 miles or every five years. The air conditioning
blows cold, which is becoming a very rare feature on these
cars, as many owners have not made the investment required
to keep this feature functioning. The previous owner replaced
the clutch and related items, and the car does not leak oil.
Everything needing attention has been completed. A file of
the vehicles service history is included with the sale, along
with the original Owners Manual, service booklet and related
delivery items for the Clarion Radio etc.
On the
inside, the original leather seats are in pristine condition,
there are no cracks or issues with
the dash and
the wood looks great. All gauges and lighting function properly.
On the outside the paint is in exception condition and is (mostly)
original. The previous owner repaired a minor cosmetic garage
mishap to the hood and fender - after a piece of wood fell
across it. The paint on the hood and fenders match the rest
of the car perfectly. I have photographs of the minor damage ‘prior’ to
the paint repair, and they are included in the service history
file. I did not find any other evidence of damage from an accident
or any other collision or corrosion damage. This vehicle is
in very fine working order, rust free, and an absolute joy
to drive and look at. Achieving over 30 MPG on the highway,
it would be easy to use this car on a regular basis. However
the overall condition suggests you might want to preserve it
for weekend trips exploring twisty back roads or perhaps gathering
a burger and a milk shake with your favorite companion. This
is the one you want!
Known in
previous life as a Fiat Spider 2000 - Pininfarina is the
design house and coach builder of many
great Fiat, Alfa
Romeo and Ferrari sports cars. Fiat folded its tent and left
the U.S. market after the 1982 model year, allowing Pininfarina
to strike their own deal to continue importation of their original
design - with improvements - here in the States. An organization
created by Malcolm Bricklin provided the road map for this
short term venture, starting with the 1983 model year and running
through 1985. The popular sports car eeked out a living for
few more years under the model name Azzurra (named after an
Italian yacht entered in the 1983 America’s Cup competition).
Improvements to the Azzurra model included a revised center
dash design, leather seating surfaces, power windows, air conditioning,
alloy wheels, and remote side view mirrors to name a few. These
luxury features were often not available on the outgoing Fiat
Spider 2000.
